Season ends in Atlanta; but Seahawks must remain positive

There’s always next year!”

Those words seem to be a pretty common thing Seahawks fans, coaches, and players hear every year, but the difference between the past and hearing that now is, the thought of it happening next year isn’t far too off. The Seattle Seahawks were 30 seconds away from advancing to the NFC Conference Championship, but some questionable play calls, prevent defense, and a “who called that timeout?” field goal doomed Seattle.

I’m not going to lie, watching that first half, I was angry. I knew I was not watching the Seahawks that I knew we were capable of doing. Seattle’s defense had no stop for Atlanta, and our offense didn’t do a good job at sustaining long drives that would have taken precious time off the clock. But, as Pete Carroll mentioned last week, you cannot win the game in the first, second, or third quarters. However, it’s good to at least make statement’s in those three quarters, we fell behind quick, but we were so close at the end of going to San Fransisco, this loss emotionally hurt.

There were more positives from this game though compared to negatives. As a member of the 12th Man Faithful, and the loudest fans in the NFL, I refuse to dwell on the negativity. To those that were ready to throw in the towel when Atlanta was up 20-0, shame on you. This team has so much upside and spunk, it’s amazing. The Seahawks are a young team and will only get better for years to come. I think the Seahawks going 12-5 overall, made us all over-joyed, and I know for a damn fact I am so excited for next season

There’s a King in every crowd.

Battle of the Birds: Seahawks-Falcons Playoff Preview

“That guy over there is named John Abraham. Breno, go easy on him, these refs are partial to AARP members.”

As I type this, the Seahawks landed in Atlanta a little over an hour ago. Getting ready for what I am sure will be an epic clash this Sunday morning when the Seattle Seahawks play the number one seeded, Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Divisional playoff round.

The last time these teams played was back in 2011, and the Seahawks lost 28-30. Seattle went 7-9 that season, and missed the post-season. The defense was not as strong that year as it is now, and the Seahawks were playing with a less than sub-par quarterback in, Tarvaris Jackson. However, the past does not help what will occur this weekend, the only past that will come from that game is the game film. Russell Wilson and the rest of his Seahawk team have probably watched hours of it to prepare for one of the biggest games this season on a national stage.

The Falcons boast a rested team, as they had the first round BYE in the post-season this year, and this could either mean great news or a terrible outcome. The Falcons may be too rested and thinking they are too good, and come in this game with cocky attitudes. Hopefully they are not, and hopefully they took advice from teams like the Packers, Cowboys, and Patriots who thought playing Seattle would be easy.

The reason I mention this, is because the Seahawks are the only team in the NFL that has a, “Legion Of Boom”. Atlanta’s wide receivers, while I show much respect to them, will be in for a tough day. Roddy White and Julio Jones will be going against loud mouth, Richard Sherman and bruiser, Brandon Browner… Continue reading

Happy Super Bowl

I’m frying chicken wings, and I’m not writing anything today. Over at Fantasy Football Jungle I’m one game ahead in our season-long pigskin picks, and I need your support over there. Eat too much, veg too much, drink too much. I’ve got a six pack of Hop Devil IPA (haven’t tried it! I’m excited) to keep me occupied. Happy Super Bowl.

Seattle Seahawks Become First 7-9 Playoff Team

With Charlie Whitehurst at the helm, the Seattle Seahawks rallied for the final game of regular season play to earn the division title over rival the St. Louis Rams. The entire country will be looking to the Seahawks to prove the NFL’s playoff scheme works by hosting a competitive match rather than the complete blow-out the Northwest is used to seeing from Seattle.
