Huskies at the Combine: Day Three
Alameda Ta’amu measured in a 6-3, 348 lbs, with 32 inch arms. His height and weight are near-ideal for a 3-4 Nose Tackle, but his arm length may hurt his stock a bit. Depending on how many 3-4 teams are looking for a nose tackle, Ta’amu may get drafted pretty high.
Senio Kelemete benched 225 lbs 21 times, which isn’t very impressive for a guy with about average-length arms. Noted for his athleticism, Kelemete ran a 5.52 40 yard dash. Obviously not many linemen make a living running 40 yards down field, but Kelemete’s first 10 yards, the most important yards, especially for a guy who is a zone-blocking prospect, were pretty awful. He ran those first 10 yards in 1.95 seconds. That was the worst among any lineman… Continue reading
Huskies at the Combine: Day two
Jermaine Kearse measured in a 6-1, 209 lbs, and has 9 1/4 inch hands. Kearse isn’t a great route runner, and doesn’t have elite catching ability, so his 40 time will probably be very important.
Chris Polk measured in at 5-11, 215 lbs, and with 9 3/4 inch hands. Polk’s stock needs to rebound after a disappointing Senior Bowl, but his hand size may work in his favor, as he’s one of the few complete backs in this year’s draft… Continue reading
Seahawks/Chiefs coin-toss Friday
The 11th pick of this years NFL draft is literally “up in the air”. This Friday morning league officials and representatives of the Seahawks and Chiefs will conduct a coin-flip to determine the 11th and 12th picks of the upcoming draft.
The NFL even designed a special coin to be used for the coin-toss, with the Kansas City Chiefs on one side, and the Seattle Seahawks on the other.
Both the Seahawks and Chiefs finished the 2011 regular season with identical records of 7-9 and the same strength of schedules, however, because the teams do not play in the same conference, a coin toss is used to determine draft position… Continue reading
Huskies at the Combine: Day One
So today is basically just weigh-ins and formalities. Nothing super exciting. We will definitely have weeks and weeks to pine over guys who we develop crushes on during the combine, but for the purposes of this website it is at least equally important to know how Huskies have performed at the combine. The Huskies had four players invited to the combine: Chris Polk, Alameda Ta’Amu, Senio Kelemete, and Jermaine Kearse.
3:08 PM: Senio Kelemete has measured in at 6-4, 307 lbs, and has 33 1/2 inch arms. Kelemete is expected to move to guard in the NFL, and probably fits best with a team that doesn’t need a power blocking guard, and one who can make blocks on the second level. Nothing today changes that, as Kelemete may have… Continue reading
NFL Mock Draft 2012: January 27
This week’s mock includes the two teams eliminated from the playoffs last week (Baltimore and San Francisco)(haha San Francisco you assholes). I still think Chris Polk is a first rounder. He doesn’t have eye-popping measurables. He’s like Rashard Mendenhall but perhaps more athletic.
I mocked another defensive end to the Seahawks. I love Ryan Tannehill‘s game, but I don’t want to see them reach that far for a quarterback.
The new Ocho Cinco is a guy named Whitney. Just kidding. He can't wear that number in the NFL. Dummy.
1. Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
No matter if the Colts use this pick or trade it, the top pick in this year’s… Continue reading | 8 Comments
NFL Mock Draft 2012: January 20
The top 28 picks are set as the playoffs chug along, and while we will start to analyze some Seahawks free agents soon, you can check out our quarterback candidates right here, right now.
The state of North Carolina has produced some pretty good defensive ends in recent years (Julius Peppers, Mario Williams)
1. Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
No matter if the Colts use this pick or trade it, the top pick in this year’s draft will be Luck.
2. St. Louis Rams: Matt Kalil, OT, USC
Jason Smith and Alex Barron have been busts. The Rams need an upgrade at tackle.
3. Minnesota Vikings: Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford
The… Continue reading | 1 Comment
2012 Seahawks QB Candidates: Robert Griffin III
Robert Griffin III, Baylor
6-2, 220
2012 Age: 22 years old
RG3 was very good this year, but a couple of years from now we may be calling him a poor man's KP1. Go Huskies!
What we like:
Absolute world class athlete, will be best athlete on the field on most downs
Work ethic appears unmatched according to reports
Graduated college early, great student
Collegiate production was unmatched, as evidenced by Heisman win
Excellent completion percentage
Throws a very good deep ball
Will face coverages akin to those faced by Tim Tebow, but with better arm talent
What we
NFL Mock Draft 2012: January 13
Now that the first 24 picks are set, we will take another look at how the draft could play out. Notably, RG3 made his entering the draft official, and Ryan Tannehill (who I would have mocked to the Browns at No. 22) has a broken bone in his foot that may require surgery, that will definitely make him miss the Senior Bowl, and that may force him to miss the combine as well.
Also, check out our Seahawks QB Candidates series.
Hey, this guy may have a third round grade, but at least he can change the light bulbs in the locker room without a step ladder. And you should see him push start a car!
“Seattle Seahawks 2011 NFL Draft: Players To Keep An Eye On For the Future
With the Seahawks struggling of late, let’s take a break to look forward to the 2011 draft.
The Seahawks are a mess.
With Carroll’s penchant for roster switches who knows how the team will look like next spring. But, we can bet he’s got his eye on a few players for the 2011 draft. Continue reading
What to love or hate about the Seahawks day three selections and acquisitions
The Seahawks had a busy second-day, Pete Carroll drafted some players high-upside, and trade for two running backs that could add depth to the offense, but also will compete for starting jobs.
Carroll also took some risks on players, both of those runningbacks included, but this year’s draft was one where character played a huge role in players’ draft positions.
Here is who the Seahawks acquired today, and what you should love or hate about each of them.… Continue reading
