Seattle Seahawks beat Tennessee Titans 20-13, recapped in tweets

A heartbreaking loss under their belt, the Seahawks and their fans took to the field and twitter respectively. They beat the Titans despite being tremendously sloppy at times, and somewhat dominant at other times. These are the tweets that corresponded with those events.

Before the game

1st Quarter

Seahawks defer after winning coin toss.

After first Seahawks pass goes from Russell Wilson to Luke Willson.

Seahawks fail to convert on third down, ending their first drive.

Richard Sherman called for a late hit on Ryan Fitzpatrick scramble.

Fuck us sideways… I guess?

Tennessee’s second drive ends with a Rob Bironas field goal from 38 yards. Tennessee leads 3-0.

Seahawks drive ends after Wilson designed run, then a Lynch run, Wilson run, and pass to Golden Tate that is broken up.

Russell Wilson scrambles for a first down on 3rd and 5, coems back on James Carpenter holding penalty.

John Ryan punt hits goal line, and for the second straight punt the Seahawks come very close to pinning the Titans back, instead giving them the ball on the 20 after a touchback.

2nd Quarter

After some early struggles in this game, and frankly in this season.

This game didn’t start how we expected.

Richard Sherman blitzes, Jordan Hill and Chris Clemons share a sack.

And again from these guys, preceding a play that leads to a Tennessee punt.

Russell Wilson throws to Golden Tate in the flat, who makes one tackler miss, and runs over another for a first down.

Russell Wilson throws to Doug Baldwin out of the slot, who takes the ball down to the two yard line.

Seahawks need four downs to gain those two yards, but do, with Marshawn Lynch rushing for a touchdown on fourth and goal. Seahawks lead 7-3

Steven Hauschka tried to get in the way of Darius Reynaud on the ensuing kickoff return and paid the price. May be ominous.

Michael Bennett sacks Ryan Fitzgerald, ending a two-minute drill for the Titans. Then he dances. Or something.

Titans punter drops snap, Seahawks sack him at the 38.

With one timeout, Russell Wilson passes to Robert Turbin, who keeps the ball in bounds, meaning the clock keeps running. Then the Seahawks false start at the line of scrimmage, forcing them to use their last timeout.

Then John Ryan lines up for a field goal. Chris Maragos misses the snap, attempts to throw it. Maragos throws a lateral, which is recovered by Tennessee and returned for a touchdown. Then challenged.

Ruling stands. Titans lead 10-7.

3rd Quarter

Asleep at the wheel, social media intern.

Russell Wilson can scramble.

Sidney Rice fumbles after catching a pass for a first down (this following a defensive holding call on Rice that got the team another first down). Referees say Tennessee recovered the football, and called a personal foul on Michael Bowie, who hit a man on top of the pileup. Play reviewed.

Brandon Browner is back.

Seahawks force the Titans into a 3-and-out.

After a Derrick Coleman fumble goes out of bounds, with the Seahawks retaining possession.

Russell Wilson hits Doug Baldwin for another third down conversion, then scrambles for 23 yards on first down.

Titans driving. 2:32 left in third quarter.

Drive ends.

4th Quarter

Marshawn Lynch fumbles at the goal line. Zach Brown attempts to recover and gives the ball up to Russell Wilson while attempting to run it back for a touchdown.

Drive that was once on the three yard line, ends on the six after a sack of Wilson and a failed scramble by Wilson. Steven Hauschka good from 29 yards. Seahawks lead 13-10.

On first down Richard Sherman picks off Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Marshawn Lynch tip toes down the sideline for a first down reception.

Sidney Rice makes a beautiful toe-tapping catch on the sideline, followed directly by a Marshawn Lynch touchdown with 7:33 left in the fourth quarter. 20-10 Seahawks.

Ryan Fitzpatrick sucks.

Earl Thomas puts a great hit on a would-be receiver Damian Williams, then a bigger hit on present-day teammate Kam Chancellor.

Titans kick a field goal. Seahawks lead 20-13.

Titans opt against onside kick. Kick deep to Jermaine Kearse, who is a god damned man.

Russell Wilson draws the Titans offsides for a first down on third and four, this a play after the two minute warning with the Titans holding two timeouts. Wilson throws to Doug Baldwin, who nearly makes a great catch.

Marshawn Lynch rushes for a first down, Seahawks win 20-13.

And another thing.
