Seattle Mariners Game 4: @ Oakland

There was a time early in Felix Hernandez’s career that there was some question if he’d end up bring truly great, or if he was going to end up being another version of Bartolo Colon. Colon’s name was a derogatory description at the time. Now that Colon is in his age 39 season, and pitching as well as he ever has, Felix may begin to view Colon as a role model later in his career. Hopefully he just kicks his ass tonight, though.

Brendan Ryan will miss the game with a sore neck per Shannon Drayer. Apparently it’s just that Ryan slept wrong rather than some kind of injury. In his place will be Munenori Kawasaki.

Obviously if Felix ever wants to be a 20-game winner he’s going to have to learn how to give up more runs.  The plan to get rid of Figgy isn’t working either, if he keeps hitting some dumb ass in the FO is going to balk about trading him.  If they can win one of the four games in Texas they will be playing .500 ball, which is the height of my ambitions for this season.
