J.P. Losman signs with Seahawks
|J.P. Losman is far from an exciting name, and may draw some pretty ugly reactions, even though he signed with the Seahawks to compete with Mike Teel for the team’s third string quarterback job.
Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio thought they should have signed Daunte Culpepper.
“No offense to Losman, but why in the heck wouldn’t the Seahawks have taken a chance on Daunte Culpepper before the former Bills starter? Though Culpepper hasn’t returned to the full form he displayed before suffering a torn knee ligament trifecta in 2005, Culpepper would still seem to be a better choice than Losman.”
Here are blind resumes of each players stats from 2006-2009:
Player A
338/592 Comp/Att
57.09 completion percentage
3991 yards
14/20 TD/INT
6.74 yards per attempt
11.81 yards per completion
Player B
442-709 Comp/Att
62.34 completion percentage
4839 yards
25/25 TD/INT
6.82 yards per attempt
10.95 yards per completion
Player B is Losman. He’s also almost four years younger, and doesn’t have nearly the injury history that Culpepper does.
